I had to set a frame rate cap in the nvidia drivers, vsync seemed to cause issues for me. AllowWindowedMode1 seems essential and lets me even use frame buffer effects on my PC. I use an app to make it large memory address aware in addition to the steps here. Or maybe it's just the latest version of Edge (and possibly other UWP Apps) causing this. I'm running it on win10 with 1920x1080 resolution with high res textures. I assume the crash might also have to do with the way W10 1703 changed how D3D9 (which SWTOR uses) works (time for an (optional) engine update to DX12? That could also help with CPU-bound situations). In Windows 8.1, scroll down to the Background Processes and look for any Bitraider listings. It's good to hear that you are updating the game, though. On Windows 7, sort by image name and look for any starting with 'br', they should be listed as belonging to Bitraider in the description column. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but now it doesnt install. I can then start Edge again and task out to browse the web and there are no issues. I cant play SWTOR because it never downloads. If I close Edge, SWTOR starts up properly. It doesn't matter whether VSync, Gsync, Game Mode or full-screen optimizations are enabled or not. eric I noticed I always get a crash when Microsoft Edge is running (even in the background) while SWTOR is starting up.
